Grammar
- The definite article ال ("the") is always affixed to the beginning of the word it describes. It is often pronounced "al," but sometimes the ل adopts the sound of the first letter of the word ال is attached to.
- If the subject of the thought following لكن or لأن is a pronoun (e.g. "I," "he," "she," "you," etc.), it transforms into a pronoun suffix.
- Negate present tense verbs with لا. For example: لا أدرس ("I don't study" or "I am not studying").
