لكن or لأن is a pronoun
What is a pronoun?
Pronouns are "stand-ins" for other nouns. In English, the pronouns are "he," "she," "it," "you," "I," "they," and "we.", it transforms into a pronoun suffix. This means that the pronoun changes form and is attached to the
end of the relevant word. For example, لكن + لأن
is expressed لكنّي.
At this point, we do not expect you to learn all the pronoun suffixes. Just be aware of how "I," "he," and "she" are used in conjunction with لكن and لأن.
