In the previous activities you have learned how to introduce and talk about yourself in Arabic. However, it is just as important that you know how to greet and get to know others as well. In this activity you will learn how to ask some basic questions about people. In the process, you will also get to know two new people.


	1. On pages 14-15 of Al-Kitaab you can find an overview of the types of questions you can ask in Arabic. After reviewing those, think about how you would ask someone the following questions.


	You can make a simple verbless sentence using مَن and أنت. Note that there is another way to ask this question, ما اسمك, which means, "What’s your name?"Who are you? Hint


	Unlike English, you do not need a verb in order to ask or answer this question.Where are you from? Hint


	Since this question involves a verb, you should use ماذا. To ask this question, you also have to pay attention to gender. If you were talking to a woman, you would ask ماذا تعملين while if you were talking to a man, you would ask ماذا تعمل.What do you do? Hint


	Much like asking "what do you do?" this question requires a verb. You have to set the verb up for a question exactly as you did in asking "what do you do?" So if the feminine version is أين تسكنين, what is the masculine version?Where do you live? Hint


	2. Now that you have some useful questions at your disposal, try using some of them to get to know the two people whose pictures you see below. Just click on a picture of the person you want to meet. Then, you will see a list of questions. Click on a question to see the person respond.
