لأنَّ + ني
In Chapter 6 you learned how to use لأنّ to express the meaning of because followed by a جملة اسميّة. In Arabic, because I is expressed with (لأنَّ + ني)لأنَّني. This particle also occurs as لأنّي, where the نَّ and ني are contracted in writing as well as in speech. There is no difference in meaning between the two forms.

لـِ + الضمائر
Be aware that when combined with pronoun suffixes, the preposition لِـ always takes the short vowel “a” or فتحة and loses the “i” or كسرة. The only pronoun with which the “i” is preserved is ي.
